The Nix family established Wetumka's first funeral home during the early 1900s. This business initially operated from the rear of a hardware shop, as many early undertakers balanced funeral duties with carpentry as their main profession. At the time, services often occurred in private residences; thus, directors primarily supplied caskets and basic equipment. During the 1930s, the firm relocated to its present Main Street site, evolving into a full-service facility that has served the region ever since. In 1984, Donnie Williamson acquired the home, returning to his hometown after years of directing in Muskogee. Upon his arrival, Donnie became the youngest funeral proprietor in the state of Oklahoma. Since then, he has overseen Williamson-Spradlin, and in mid-2016, he invited Eric Kroier to join him as a business partner. Collectively, they remain dedicated to offering the high level of support and professional care that the local residents of this community have come to expect and so deserve.
