William Daryl Magness, age 78, passed away on September 23, 2019 at his home in Okemah, Oklahoma.

Bill, as he was known to most, and Grampy by his grandchildren, was born in Okemah to William Ivyle Magness and Retha (Scott) Magness on May 21, 1941.

Bill married his loving wife, Donna Rae (Massey) Magness on June 1, 1962. He was industrious and hard-working, and took on many different roles. He worked in oilfields at Landers, as a ranch foreman for Hills Angus Ranch in Wewoka, in the City Water Department for the City of Okemah, and worked for over 30 years with Public Service of Oklahoma as a meter reader. He loved his birds and going to auctions. Bill is best remembered, though, as a man who never met a stranger, who loved his family, and loved singing to his Jesus, who he accepted as his Lord and Savior on April 1, 2012. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Okemah.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; by his sister, DeLois Heath; two great-grandchildren, Makaila and Tuff; and two special nephews, Gary and William Heath.

Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna, of the home; two sons, Todd Magness and wife Jody, of Okemah, and Blake Magness of Holdenville; one daughter, Danelle Childress and husband Rex of Okemah; Seven grandchildren: Crystal Bolles and husband Matt of Stratford; Lori Magness of Okemah; Hunter Magness of Okemah, Heath Magness and wife Jeri of Henryetta; Lacee Gaskill and husband Jobe of Okemah, Levi Magness of Okemah, and Shayna Thompson and husband Joey of Stroud; by nineteen great-grandchildren; and by one brother, Phillip W. Magness of Okemah.
