Ruby Banta was born February 4, 1916 in Weleetka, Oklahoma to Frank and Hattie Saladin and passed from this life March 2, 2017 in Tulsa at the age of 101.

Ruby was raised in Weleetka and attended Weleetka School. As a young lady she worked at Guy Jeffery's Cafe. On July 3, 1956 she married Preston Banta and they made Weleetka their lifelong home. She enjoyed shopping and looked forward to Saturday trips to the mall.

Ruby was a long time member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Weleetka.

Survivors include her husband Preston of the home; a nephew Frank Saladin and wife Nita of Shawnee; along with other relatives and many friends.

A graveside service was held Saturday, March 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Dale Smith and Rev. Don Williamson officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Weleetka and Wetumka.
