Rosie Annette
Mcdaniel
Jan 12, 1961 — Nov 14, 2020
Weleetka
Rosie Annette (Lawson) McDaniel was born January 12, 1961 in Hanna, Oklahoma to Floyd Lawson, Sr. and Christine (Bussey) Lawson. She passed from this life on November 14, 2020 at her home in Weleetka, Oklahoma.
Annette grew up in Hanna and graduated from high school there. She then attended Wilburton State College and earned a Bachelor degree. Out of a great desire to take care of those in need, she attended Wes Watkins Technology Center in Wetumka, Oklahoma, where she earned an LPN and began working in healthcare, working in a number of nursing homes and hospitals. She lived in and worked in Nevada with her husband, John, for many years before returning to Oklahoma and making it her home once more.
Annette and John married on October 26, 1987 and had recently celebrated their 33 rd anniversary. Throughout their time together, they traveled across the country and toured the western United States from Mexico up to Edmonton, Canada. Glacier National Park was her favorite place, but she greatly enjoyed all her travels with John. She also loved flowers, gardening, and fishing with her husband. Annette had an immense heart and always looked after people, including her own parents in their later years and then her many nieces and nephews.
Annette struggled with many health challenges, including surviving pancreatic cancer and overcoming heart attacks. When she was 11 years old, doctors told her that she would not live to be 30—but she surpassed these expectations. Annette was always grateful for every day she was alive, and lived life to its fullest. She was also a devoted Christian, and this shaped the way she took care of others.
Annette is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd, Sr. and Christine Lawson; by her brother, John Thomas Lawson; and by her sister, Lena Young.
Annette is survived by her husband, John McDaniel, of the home; by her siblings: Bonnie Sargent and husband, Mike; Floyd Lawson, Jr. and wife Theresa; and Rhoda Craighead and husband, Sam; her brother-in-law Scott Young; by her nieces and nephews: Timmy, Michael, Jennifer, David, Chrissy, Dakota, and Anthony; and by her grand-nieces and grand-nephews: Hailey, Aaron, Taylor, Cole, Destiny, Marcus, Bryson, Aiden, Cameron, Benjamin, Asher, Felicity, and Sophie. She was also close with Pamela and Michael T. She loved each of them as if they were her very own.
