Obituary

Mildred Fay Smith was born on August 1, 1934 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Sam and Alma Hill. She passed from this life on March 26, 2025 in Holdenville.

Mildred was born and raised in Wetumka. She attended Wetumka Schools as a young girl. On May 8, 1953, she married her husband, Donald Smith. To this union were born two daughters, Patricia and Donna. Mildred and Donald would move their family a few times to places like Seminole, Okemah, Henryetta, and Okmulgee. However, they would always make their way back home to Wetumka.

Mildred was a member of the Faith Free Will Baptist Church of Holdenville. She was always willing to care for anyone who needed taken care of. She loved being outside. She enjoyed working with her flowers and gardening. Most of all, she enjoyed mowing the grass. Family members would come and try to take on the duty of mowing, but she never would let them.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Alma Hill; her daughter, Donna Smith Ray; three brothers, Irvin Hill, Pete Hill, and Alvin Hill; as well as two sisters, Evelyn Basquez and Margaret Timmons.
