Mickey Smith, Jr. was born September 7, 1964, in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Mickey Smith and Lois (Manley) Smith and passed from this life September 19, 2023 at the age of 59.

Mickey was raised in Hanna and attended the local school. While there he excelled in basketball and baseball. He was a graduate of Hanna High School.

Following graduation, he entered the United States Army where he honorably served his country. After his discharge he relocated to Wetumka where he first worked as a roofer. Later, he spent several years as a restaurant cook. As a young man he was married and was the father of four sons and four daughters. After residing in Wetumka and Hanna most of his life he settled in Tulsa about a year ago.

Mickey loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and barbecuing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Jacob, a sister Anna, a son Aaron, and a grandson Gage Smith.

Survivors include: 7 children: Charlette Smith and husband Chris Tucker of Okmulgee, Sissey Smith of Wetumka, Jacob Smith and wife Taylor Pickett of Holdenville, and Randy Smith, Brandi Smith and husband Gavreil Kelly, Summer Smith, and Thomas Smith, all of Lawton; 2 brothers, Archie Smith of Hanna and Marvin Smith of Little Axe; a sister Melissa Smith of Weleetka; an aunt Helen Manley of Weleetka; along with 16 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, 2 nieces, 3 nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Mickey will be taken to the Hanna Indian Community Center at 4:00 p.m. Sunday and a wake service will be held that evening. A funeral service will be held there on Monday at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Randy and Jacob Smith, Nicholas Lewis, David Grider, Ricky Harjo Jr and Ricky Harjo Sr. Interment will follow at the Smith Family Cemetery under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Wetumka.
