Lucy Jean Harjo was born December 3, 1948 in Dustin, Oklahoma to Daniel Mickey and Millie Harper Mickey and passed from this life January 5, 2021 in Okmulgee at the age of 72.

Lucy was raised in Dustin and attended Dustin School. Soon after graduating from Dustin High School she attended cosmetology school in Texas. Soon afterward she married Daniel Harjo and they made Hanna their home most of their lives together. He preceded her in death in 2006. Due to failing health Lucy relocated to Weleetka last year to be near her son.

Lucy is remembered as a loving homemaker and enjoyed time spent with friends at the Hanna Senior Citizens Center.

In addition to her husband Daniel she was also preceded in death by a brother Virgil.

Survivors include: two sons, Steve Harjo and wife Etta of Pierce and Ricky Harjo and wife Melissa of Weleetka; 3 sisters, Katie Sevier and husband Tommy of Tulsa, Mary Mickey of Wetumka, and Celia Billy of Seminole; three grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Harjo-Gouge Cemetery at Hanna with Rev. Chebon Kernell officiating. Pallbearers will be Leroy Harjo, Justin Bruner, Ricky Harjo, Jr., Timothy Cooper, Jeremy Cooper and Marcus Harjo. Interment will follow under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka and Weleetka.
