John Preston Bentley was born November 10, 1966 in Corsicana, Texas to Dickie Bentley and Virginia Robinson Bentley. He stepped into Glory on Friday, January 13, 2023 at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City following an extended illness surrounded by his loving family.

John was raised in Corsicana and was a graduate of Corsicana High School. Following graduation he received a Associates Degree from the Navarro County College. He married Sharon Reenea Thompson and they had most recently resided in Muskogee. He worked some 22 years in the medical field caring for patients with special needs.

John was an ordained minister, a musician with the ability to play several instruments, a published author, poet, and song writer. He and wife Reenea attended Relevant Church in Muskogee under the pastoral leadership of pastors Jason and Donna Cochran.

John was preceded in death by his father, step father James Nicklas, and step grandson William Kidd Holtz.

Survivors include: his wife Reenea of the home in Muskogee; his daughter Jessica Bentley of Corsicana, TX; his mother Virginia Bentley Nicklas of Gun Barrel, TX; a brother Michael Lee Bentley of Corsicana, TX; his stepmother Francine Bentley of Corsicana, TX; a stepdaughter Brooklyn Holtz and husband Roy of Greenwood, AR; a stepson Jonathan Walker and wife April of Poteau, OK; 8 step grandchildren, Roy Ethan Holtz, Jamie Don Walker, Morgan Bell Janet Walker, Jolene Mary Lorriwayne Walker, Jaymee Jo Deasus, Nevaeh Deasus, Remington Deasus, and Dallas Deasus; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and church family.
