Joe Lee
Berryhill
Jan 1, 1944 — Sep 25, 2020
Oklahoma City
Joe Lee Berryhill was born January 1, 1944 in Weleetka, Oklahoma to the family of Roley Berryhill and Sarah (Sawyer) Berryhill. Joe Lee passed away September 25, 2020 at the age of 76 years.
He graduated Lone Oak Public School on May 5, 1958 and Butner High School May 17, 1963. Joe enlisted in the Army National Guard on December 12, 1962 and began his service right out of high school where he served his country faithfully and was honorably discharged December 11, 1968, earning special commendations as a sharp shooter and the rank of Sergeant. Joe was baptized at home at an early age and was a member of Thlopthlocco Methodist Church. Joe Lee lived most of his life in the Oklahoma City area and was an avid OU football fan who loved reading and watching old western shows. Although he loved his independence and privacy, he was a proud and quiet person who always enjoyed when family gathered together to share a meal and a story where he could sit and laugh while listening to everyone joke around with one another.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Roley and Sarah Berryhill; sister, Nettie Ruth Berryhill and brother, Sonny Berryhill; nieces, Christine and Marian; and nephews, Danny, Roger, and Robbie.
Although Joe Lee is no longer with us his memory and legacy will be kept alive through family and friends he leaves behind which include: his brother, Robert Berryhill and family, of Wetumka, Oklahoma; brother, Chubby Berryhill and family of Wetumka; sister, Peggy Johnson and family of Oklahoma City; sister, Linda Berryhill and family of Holdenville, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
