James Ronnie Shropshire, Sr. was born in Oakland, California on July 22, 1946 to Garvin and Mildred Shropshire. James passed from this life on March 2, 2023.

James was also known as Paw Paw and some called him Ronnie, and in his younger days some called him Sconnie Ronnie.

He moved to Oklahoma in his childhood with his mom, dad, and four siblings--his sister, Gloria, and three brothers, Jerry, David, and Clifford, who also have passed from this life. He leaves four nieces, Debbie, Kristen, Angel, and Stacey, and his nephew Scott Shropshire.

James met his wife Carolynn Sue and they married in October 1964. They were married 22 ½ years and had three children, Dianna, Patricia, and Little Ron.

James had his degree in culinary arts and was a chef most of his life. He enjoyed cooking and baking. Later in life he became a square dancer and earned several medals. He had to retire after ten years of dancing due to his health. He lived a very simple life and was easy to please. He had a smile that was contagious and never complained about much. He enjoyed his family and loved to eat his favorite foods: pizza, hotdogs, chips, and coke.

He had a slew of grandchildren: eight grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He's gonna be missed a whole bunch.
