Gary Robert Mayne was born May 18, 1953 to Lee Mayne and Betty (Lee) Mayne in Pryor, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on August 27, 2019 at his home in Weleetka, Oklahoma.

Gary was an active person. He served on the student council in high school and was named on the honor roll for his academic achievements. He was an All-State Honorable Mention basketball player and played two other sports as well.

After graduating high school, he attended North East Oklahoma A&M Junior College in Miami. He graduated with a degree in General Studies. It was there that he met his wife, Marsha. They married after graduation in the Weleetka Methodist Church.

Gary also graduated from Central State University with a degree in Criminal Justice. He worked for the Department of Corrections for a time, and he also worked for Sears on their sales team. He worked for GTE Phone Company, as well. He later ventured into real estate, earning a realtor's license and working for a property management company. He also served as a caregiver to his mother, Betty Mayne.

Gary loved the outdoors and he loved to hunt and fish. He loved his family and friends. He was a sports enthusiast and especially loved OU football.

Gary is survived by his son, Ryan Mayne; by his sister, LeeAnn; by his niece, Julie; and by his longtime friend and companion, Debbie and her children, Phillip and Christin.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 23 at 1:00 pm at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weleetka, Oklahoma. Rev. Donnie Williamson will officiate. Services are under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka and Weleetka.
