Obituary

Eva Athalene (Tippin) Pitts was born on October 27, 1931 to Guy Tippin and Hazel (Yarberry) Tippin in Hugoton, Kansas. She passed from this life surrounded by family at her home in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on October 8, 2020.

Eva's family moved to the Wetumka area in her childhood. She graduated from Moss School. Shortly thereafter she married her husband of 63 years, Kenneth Pitts. Four children were born to their union. Kenneth worked for Phillips and, for a time, that work took them to Borger, Texas. They returned after Kenneth was able to transfer to Okmulgee, where Eva resided with her family for the rest of their days.

Eva was a homemaker and loved to care for her children, her grandchildren—and other people's children, too! She was a member of the Henryetta First Church of the Nazarene, and she would dote over the church's children and make quilts for all the new babies born to the community.

Eva is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; by her parents, Guy and Hazel Tippin; and by her brother, Tommy Tippin.

Eva is survived by her four children: her sons, Larry Pitts and Gary Pitts; her daughters; Nancy Martin and Donna Smith; by her sister, Norma Driskell, and husband James; by four grandchildren, Cory Pitts and wife, Leetha, Kenny Pitts, Heather Walters and husband, Jesse, and Andy Smith and wife, Ashley; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 11 at Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home from 12:00pm until 8:00pm, with family calling hours beginning at 6:00pm.

Funeral services for Eva Athalene Pitts will be held on Monday, October 12 at 2:00pm at the First Church of the Nazarene in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Rev. Tim Cole and Rev.
