Obituary

Ethel Lee Wilcoxson was born February 22, 1918 and died March 30, 2017 at the age of 99 years old. She was born to Lester and Myrtle Pack. She was the second of ten children.

Ethel grew up in the Wetumka area and married Henry Wilcoxson in 1935 at the age of 17. They had three children, Hazel, J.D., and Roy, all of whom survived her. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Johnny Anderson, Pamela Burleson, Linda Lee, Steven Wilcoxson, Troy Wilcoxson, Danny Wilcoxson, Kelly Davidson, and Suzanne Deuramus. She had 17 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sisters and four brothers: Bertha Dyer, Dorothy Roberts, Finis Pack, Harvey Pack, Joe Pack, and Dee Pack.

Ethel was preceded in death by her husband Henry, her parents Lester and Myrtle Pack, and three brothers, Bill Pack, Lewis Pack, and Loy Pack; two grandsons, Mike Anderson, David Wilcoxson, and one great-granddaughter, Brandi Anderson.

Ethel was a very active woman. She loved sewing and gardening. She loved her roses. Ethel made more quilts that we can count. She loved her grandkids, always wanting to make sure they ate when they came to her house. Ethel thought she had to see those grandchildren every day--and when she didn't see them, she had to know why they didn't come by.

Ethel was in her mid-90s when she made her last quilt.

Graveside funeral services for Ethel will be held on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Wetumka Cemetery under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home.
