Erik William Norton was born March 31, 1980 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and passed from this life March 9, 2018 along with his wife Cindy as the result of a tragic accident near Weleetka at the age of 37.

Erik spent his early years in Tulsa where he attended grade school later moving with his family to Witter, Arkansas where he attended high school. As a young man he returned to Oklahoma and settled in Muskogee where he became an installer of high end terrazzo flooring for several years. After returning to Arkansas he met and married Cindy Dawn Sims and they were making their home in Dustin. They were married less than a year before being involved in the automobile accident which took both their lives.

Survivors include: his daughter Isabella Norton of Roland; his mother Doris Ward and husband Mark of Checotah; four brothers, Ronnie Norton of Wagoner, Nicholas Melton of Arkansas, and Matthew and Michael Ward of Checotah; two sisters Angela Norton of Oklahoma City and Holly Herron of Checotah; along with several other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 17, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Checotah with Rev. Bud Shackelford, pastor, officiating.
