Donald Dean Catlett was born July 25, 1938 in Dustin, Oklahoma to Ocie O. Catlett and Lorene (Smith) Catlett and passed from this life Mach 4, 2017 in Henryetta at the age of 78.

Don attended Dustin School before entering the United States Air Force in 1955. He gave twenty years of honorable service to his country. During his time in the military he was stationed in Morocco, France, Vietnam, England, Italy and several bases in the United States. Don married Gerry Torian in New Mexico and to this union two children were born, Bobbye and Doug. He later married Edith (Spiekermann) Coleman on October 26, 1967. He not only took Edith as his wife but was also fortunate enough to become stepfather to Carolyn, Jimmy, Tad, and Susan. After three years of marriage they had a daughter Rita. Following his retirement from the Air Force the family moved to the Dustin area where he worked in the oil fields, hauled propane, and was then employed at Anchor Glass from where he later retired. He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, a sister DeeAnn Austin and a son Doug Catlett.

Don enjoyed fishing and driving back roads in the countryside.

Survivors include: his wife Edith of the home; his daughters Carolyn Gulledge and husband Ken of Clayton, OK, Bobbye of South Dakota, Susan Morris and husband Jimmy of Pleasant Valley, OK, and Rita Posey and husband Bo of Wetumka, OK; sons Jimmy Coleman and Tad Coleman, both of Houston, TX; a sister Odie Rodriquez of California and a brother Ray Henry Catlett of Austin, TX; 8 grandchildren, Kevin Gulledge and girlfriend Jessica of Austin, TX, Jamie Foshee of Nebraska, Suzann Fisher and husband Micah of South Dakota, Sarah Able and husband Jeremiah of Coalton, OK, Ashley Morris of Okmulgee, OK, and Lexxi Posey and Dalton Posey of Wetumka; 8 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williamson Funeral Chapel in Wetumka with Rev. Don Williamson officiating. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Coleman, Tad Coleman, Ken Gulledge, Derek Gulledge, Jimmy Morris, Bo Posey, Kevin Gulledge, and Dalton Posey. Honorary bearers will be John Slusser, A.W. Warden, and Donnie Peters. Interment will be in the Dustin Cemetery under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home.
