David Hoyt Bates was born December 20, 1943 in Lamar, Oklahoma to George and Pearl Bates. David passed from this life on July 4, 2023.

David is survived by his wife, Marilyn Bates; brother, Lloyd Bates and wife Donna; Son, David "Little David" of Arkansas; Grandson, Wyatt Caldwell and wife Hailey; their children Eli, Blaire, and Adam; Grandson, John Caldwell and his son, Daniel.

David is preceded in death by his parents, George and Pearl Bates; Daughter, Tracy Caldwell; Brother, George Lee Bates; and Sister, Margidean Osborn.

Visitation for David Bates will be held in the Spradlin Memorial Chapel at Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home in Wetumka on Friday, July 7 from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, July 8 at 10:00 A.M. at Wetumka Cemetery.
