Corey Wayne Austin was born August 27, 1992 in Oklahoma City to Curtis Wayne and Lawana (Polson) Austin and passed from this life June 29, 2023 at his home in Weleetka at the age of 30.

Corey grew up in Henryetta and attended Henryetta Public Schools. As a young man he relocated to South Dakota for a time. He traveled and worked as a high-rise window washer. He came back home and had been living in Weleetka and worked as a ranch hand. He loved animals so he enjoyed caring for livestock. He also cared for domestic animals and would often volunteer to care for people's pets. Corey was very artistic and created beautiful drawings and writings.

He was preceded in death by his mother, a brother Isaac, and an uncle James Byrne.

Survivors include: his father Curtis of Weleetka; a sister Christine Riley of Ryal; a brother Andrew Austin of Broken Arrow; 2 uncles Sanford Polson and wife Sandra of Dustin and Robert Polson and wife Tennie of Weleetka; an aunt Susie Hassan and husband Ali of Tulsa, and Diana Ivy of Dustin; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Christ's Community Church with Rev. John Overton, pastor, officiating.
